Student Office Assistant

Office of Accessibility Resources and Services (OARS) University of North Carolina Greensboro (UNCG)

Position Summary

The Student Office Assistant serves as the first point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and visitors interacting with OARS. This role provides front-office customer service, administrative support, and assistance with office operations and campus outreach activities. The position requires professionalism, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while supporting a diverse campus community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
  • Answer and direct phone calls and electronic correspondence.
  • Schedule appointments and manage front desk activities.
  • Assist with copying, filing, and other administrative tasks.
  • Support OARS staff with presentations, interviews, and student appointments.
  • Assist with campus outreach and tabling events.
  • Provide accurate information regarding OARS services and events.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current UNCG student.
  • Federal Work-Study award recipient for the 2026-2027 academic year.
  • Availability to work multiple semesters.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
