Global Engagement Office Social Media Student Assistant
The Social Media Student Assistant will support the Global Engagement Office’s digital presence by managing and creating content for various social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn. The student will help engage current and prospective students, international alumni, promote department events, and enhance overall visibility through creative and strategic digital marketing efforts.
Responsibilities:
Develop, schedule, and post engaging content on GEO social media channels.
Monitor social media accounts, respond to comments/messages, and engage with followers.
Assist in creating graphics, videos, and other multimedia content.
Promote GEO events, programs, and achievements through digital platforms.
Analyze engagement metrics and suggest improvements for content strategy.
Stay up to date with social media trends and suggest innovative ways to enhance online engagement.
Collaborate with department staff and student organizations to gather relevant content.
Ensure all content aligns with university branding and social media policies.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled as a student at UNCG.
Live on or near campus to ensure easy access to UNCG events and activities.
Strong understanding of major social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn).
Experience with content creation, including graphic design and video editing (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools preferred).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Creative thinker with an eye for design and storytelling.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
Experience in international education, multicultural awareness, or travel is preferred.
Hours & Compensation:
20 hours per week.
Paid hourly based on university student wage guidelines.
