Novant Health: Government Relations Intern

This role provides hands-on experience supporting hospital leadership on strategic and operational initiatives. The intern will work closely with administrative and clinical teams to better understand how healthcare operations, policy, and business functions intersect.

 Responsibilities:

• Support projects related to hospital operations and strategic planning
• Assist with decision analysis for initiatives such as operating room staffing models and departmental performance
• Contribute to revenue cycle and process improvement efforts
• Help develop and implement focus groups to gather stakeholder feedback
• Participate in creating departmental action plans and reporting outcomes
• Collaborate with both clinical and administrative teams to understand how patient care delivery aligns with business operations

Learning Opportunities:
While some exposure to financial processes may be included, the primary focus of this role is gaining experience in hospital administration, clinical operations, and how these areas connect to organizational strategy and decision-making.
