Photography Intern
University Communications seeks applicants for a Photography Intern, assisting the department's photographers and the digital asset administrator with the organization and processing of the photos taken for our digital photo library. The intern will ingest, organize, and process photo files for the department's digital asset management system, Canto. On occasion, the intern may help apply relevant metadata to photo files as needed. The intern will be trained to use the software required to upload, ingest, and organize the video files and associated assets.
Principal duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist processing and colorizing UC captured images
- Assist in keeping all photo assets in similar and on-brand colorizing style
- Assist lead photographer with photoshoots, as needed
- Learn about photo asset management workflows and processes
- Upload/ingest photo assets to our photo management system
- Organize all relevant assets associated with photo projects using department photo file structure and naming conventions
- Apply advanced relevant and accurate metadata and keywords to digital photo assets
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic to intermediate photo editing
- Adobe Lightroom software knowledge preferred
- Ability to give full attention to details
- Strong verbal and written communication skill
- Highly organized and able to follow directions
- Customer-oriented, friendly, and flexible
- Experience with DSLR and mirror-less cameras preferred
This position is for 20 hours per week, working in the University Communications Department.
