Student’s Responsibilities:
Customer Service – It is the employee’s duty to provide friendly, accurate service to all customers. If the customer has a problem with which you cannot help, you must direct them to the appropriate office or person. If we can provide service or information to the customer then the employee will do so efficiently and thoroughly. Remember, if in doubt, ask a supervisor.
Scheduled Hours – If you know that you will not be able to work a scheduled day, you should inform the Post Office as soon as possible (this includes informing the office of time you will need off for Spring Break, Winter Break, final exams, and your last day of work at the end of the semester). This will assist in filling the shift.
Work Environment – Please remember that it is very important that the customers and other employees of the Business Center feel comfortable while in our office. Refrain from using strong language or offering political or religious opinions. Use your best judgment when determining how to approach a customer or other staff member. Remember, if in doubt, ask a supervisor.
Postal Services Responsibilities:
Training – As your employer, Postal Services is responsible for training and providing you with the knowledge, skills, and equipment necessary to successfully complete your job.
Feedback – To help you, as well as the office, Postal Services will provide you with feedback on your job performance. If you do not receive feedback or would like to receive further feedback, please ask your supervisor.
Scheduled Hours – Postal Services will set up a firm work schedule with you based on your class schedule and the needs of the office before you begin your employment. Normal office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
Work Environment – It is the employer’s responsibility to provide you with a safe and comfortable work environment.
